Reasons:

This route I really enjoyed quite a lot. It is funny to see when thinking back, why you choose to like different routes more than others. In this case I most certainly liked it a lot due to that company I had. I only meet the two women joining me the evening before, but we all had a great time.

The walk, up North Berwick Law is not a very long one, starting in the centre of North Berwick it is easily reached from Edinburgh by train or bus. Soon after starting you will have to walk through the outskirts of North Berwick, which yes has to be on pavement or even on the street, but very rarely and if you don’t like that you can avoid it by taking a bus closer to North Berwick Law itself.

In places steep, you will have to watch your step when heading up the hill, but to be honest, the views from the top over the far sea and lands are incredible. North Berwick Law being iconic cause of it being like a single hill in a mostly flat area it is visible from Edinburgh and well known with many.

The ruins and monuments on the top of the hill are nice to look at and on the way down you get to see the other side of North Berwick, leading you back into the centre where you get the opportunity to eat and drink something.

All in all, a 5 out of 5 stars due to the route being very nice and the great company I had while walking it 😊.
