Scotland - The country of Bagpipes, Kilts and Whisky. But that's not what Scotland is, at least not all that Scotland is. Scotland is a country of wild rough nature and astonoshing beauty , rich on history, friendly people, mountains, glens, lochs, flora and fauna. Come with me on a journey exploring this special place, valueing its unique atmosphere, getting to know its inhabitants and unique history. Scotland, a country like no other, seen from the eyes of a non native, feeling home there.

Rating out of 5: 4

Reasons: The DunMoore Guesthouse in Oban is a nice place itself however especially with Covid measures I found it hard to find out how to exactly check in. They offered the possibility to store my luggage until check-in though. It lies about 10 minutes from Oban Station and has various bus stops even closer by. The room was a single room and just like that was pretty small but enough given that on holidays you’re supposed to be exploring and not lying in the room the whole day 😊.

The bathroom was pretty small as well and was kinda hard to figure out but all in all it was okay. The reason why the rating is at 4 is for me that I couldn’t figure out the check-in process and didn’t get any instructions for it either. I also at first contact didn’t feel that welcomed by the owner. That changed with the time and I think it was just out of a stressed situation so nothing I am holding against her, just mentioning it here to remind you that sometimes people come across a certain way but are not really like that.

A place I would consider booking again when planning to explore more of the area round Oban.
